International travel is vitally important for cultural exchange, to give us a sense of perspective for our own worldview and to help break down the barriers which separate us. However, we must also balance our wanderlust with a desire for sustainability, as plane flights and supporting tourism are two of the worst contributors to climate change, pollution and loss of human happiness. The Race 2 the Green seeks to find that balance by allowing high school students the chance to train for trans-oceanic sailing trijps followed by immersive sustainability tours. Over time, our goal is to have annual Race 2 the Green events taking place between North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
